Waiting Sucks

Casey graduates AIT on November 17. That's almost 2 months away. I've already seen him 2 weekends after the weekend between BCT graduation and starting AIT, which I am so grateful for. I was planning to go see him at the end of next week, but instead we're pushing it back to the 8th, which is in 2 weeks. Because of the holiday, Casey gets a longer weekend. Then I plan on going back on Halloween weekend. From there on out the plan is still unknown, I'll either drive back to Montana from there and miss his graduation, or come back to Florida and then go back to Georgia for graduation and we'll haul butt home together. It's driving me absolutely bonkers not knowing. Sigh.

What I'm obsessing about more is that we still don't know where we're going. I'm still kinda hoping for overseas, but Casey said they'd be giving him lots of shots, so it's unlikely that's where he's going. Seriously, how can I plan things if I don't know where I'm going to be living? This isn't like normal, where you know like 6 months ahead of time where you're going to be going. We'll know like 3 weeks in advance. Ugh. I want to know NOW!!!

On a sad note, Phoenix is getting his shots on Wednesday. I don't want to do it?

But on a happy (and yet also sad) note, that means he's 4 months old!!! Well, on Saturday he will be. Wow, where is this time going??

So for the weekend of the 8th, we're thinking of going to Atlanta. This time hopefully it'll happen. The army was stupid and denied his pass for labor day weekend, so we didn't get to go. At least I was smart enough to not buy stuff in advance, or else I'd be in Atlanta hotels on my own! But I really want to go to the aquarium and the Coke factory. I want to play with that machine. And active duty gets in for free! Woohoo!

Well, I warned you.

I said that I'd talk about cloth diapers some.

Last night was our first attempt at cloth diapering at night. With one of my orders of flip diapers from Kelly's Closet, I got a free one size diaper. I didn't get to pick what diaper it was, all I could do was request if I wanted boy, girl, or neutral color. I played the waiting game, and I was given a bumGenius 4.0 with snaps in grasshopper. Seriously, EXACTLY what I wanted. So much so that with another order that I'll be getting tomorrow, I ordered one since I didn't want to risk not getting it.

So last night we used the BG with the two inserts it comes with, and he woke up dry THIRTEEN hours later! Awesome, right? I have never been so excited to check a diaper LOL. So tonight we are attempting cloth diapers with the flip. If it doesn't work out, the worst that happens is that I have to wash the pack n play. Oh well. I'll be getting two more BG in the mail, so those can be my main night time diapers.

Tonight Casey told me that he's pretty sure his graduation will be Nov 17. And I still don't know if I can go! So frustrating! Unless Casey's orders have a report date of end of December (unlikely), we need to be moved out of our house in Montana by Nov 27th. If I'm allowed to drive Casey home like THE day of graduation, we can hopefully drive home and get the movers all set up to be completely moved out by Nov 26, or at least into storage, so we can clean that night and the morning of the 27th. If I can't drive him home, then I have to drive out to Montana before his graduation and get started, because there will be no one to pick him up from the airport, and it will take longer to drive by myself. We still don't know where we are going though. Hopefully in the next couple weeks...

But All The Other Kids Are Doing It...

Well, I've finally done it. I feel oddly grown up know. Forget the husband and child, it's this blog that makes me feel old. Sure, I poured my teenage angst out on myspace a few years back, but now I have a "real" blog.

Well, to start things out, I should introduce myself.

My name is Marianna. I'm 22 and happily married to Casey. We have a beautiful son named Phoenix, born on May 25, 2010. Casey joined the Army in June, and graduated BCT in August. He's currently finishing up his AIT in Georgia for 25C, radio operator and maintainer. When I was crazy emotional and pregnant, he told me that it wasn't a highly deployed position. He lied. As a military brat, I was all too aware that there is no such thing, but I didn't want to believe it. Now, I think I've come to terms with that, but I'm still happily living in denial that he'll never be in a danger zone...

Want a thinker? I've got one for you: I'm from California, live in Montana, am currently in Florida, just so I can visit my husband on occasion in Georgia while at his AIT. Yeah, have fun following that one :)

One thing you'll probably read about a lot is cloth diapers. That is not the main topic or intention of this, but it is something new to me that I am attempting and becoming oddly addicted to. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I'm happy to explain. Just know that the cloth diapers our grandparents used aren't like the cloth diapers today. I've already gotten a few moms out there interested, and 2 have even made the plunge and purchased a few.

I hope you enjoy reading this much as I'm sure I'll enjoy writing it. Until next time....
